Prospective Students

The College of Public Health and Health Informatics (CPHHI), is the first of its kind in Saudi Arabia, offers Master’s Programs that aim to satisfy the ever increasing needs of the market in Saudi Arabia of qualified capabilities in the field of Health Informatics, Health Systems and Quality Management, Epidemiology, and Public Health. The College offers these degrees according to the highest international standards in the specialty with a view to becoming the national and regional center for Public Health advancement.
The two-year programs are full-time programs that accept health science or social science graduates, with work experience from a variety of health-related backgrounds. The programs provide up-to-date scientific information and practical skills necessary to improve professional competence; they support participants to become proficient in analyzing health problems and critically appraising solutions appropriate to their own context. Graduates will be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained to synthesize information from a wide range of sources and act on it, plan, implement and evaluate critically health care interventions, make appropriate decisions that make the best use even of scarce resources.
The programs utilize a variety of teaching methods, including: interactive keynote lectures, group tutorials, group discussions and group assignments, student presentations, individual exercises, and research project reports under academic supervisions. This combination enhances the learning experience, and enables students to become proficient in comprehending, analyzing, synthesizing and evaluating issues in public health and health informatics.
In addition to the conditions stipulated in the unified statutes of the Ministry of Higher Education, students should meet the following requirements:

  1. A Bachelor’s degree obtained from an accredited university in medicine, dentistry, nursing, pharmacy, radiography, laboratories, medical engineering, and management of health information, and information technology, plus two years of work experience within the healthcare sector.
  2. A minimum GPA of 3.75 out of 5.0.
  3. A minimum score of 550 in TOEFL examination or a minimum score of 6.0 in ILETS examination.
  4. Two academic recommendations by previous instructors.
  5. A letter of recommendation/consent from the employer.
  6. Applicants will be further interviewed on individual basis prior the final admission.
The College grants the Master’s degrees in the following specialties:

  • Master in Health Informatics.
  • Master of Public Health (General Track).
  • Master of Public Health (Concentration in Epidemiology).
  • Master of Public Health (Concentration in Health Systems and Quality Management).
The graduate programs in the college are managed and taught by professors who graduated from various universities in Europe and North America carry academic and research expertise in wide variety of public health areas including: health models, health behavior and promotion, cancer causes, environmental genetics, toxicology, exposure assessment, clinical epidemiology, biostatistics, electronic health records, health informatics, information technology, health systems, health policy, health systems, quality of health systems, health economics…etc
